Elves v Romans: The First

First ever, learning game of #warlordsoferehwon 1000 points last night, Elves vs Romans. Scenario 1, to keep it fast and simple. Fun game and rules were easy to pick up. One major thing I learned was that Elven Knights in Spangly Armour on the charge are beastly. They rode down my left flank and rolled over near everything in their path, taking out first the Roman Warlord, then a unit of legionnaires that attacked them; they were stopped by the Hero however that was just to consolidate as the Elf Guard came charging down the hill to finish the Hero off. A unit of Veterans charged the Guard and wiped them out. By this point though the game was pretty much over.
My rolls were mostly good and the dice gods did not smile on @danpaintsminiatures this day; luckier rolls the results would have been very different. I got so into the game I neglected to take enough photos. 🙂

The yellow may be a bit too dark, but may look better with everything else done. Painting the masts on the sprue. #miniatures #wargaming #ageofsail

WIP of #blackseas 1/700 Frigate. Primed using Citadel Corax White, then contrast paints: Black Templar for the hull, Nazareth Yellow for the “baby puke yellow” stripe. The yellow may be a bit too dark, but may look better with everything else done. Painting the masts on the sprue. #miniatures #wargaming #ageofsail

15mm Australian Hawkei

I have plans to build an ultramodern Australian force in 15mm and as part of that I picked up the (not yet released) Hawkei from @eurekamin. A great little model with resin body and metal parts. Comes with four wheels (I picked up an extra as part of a stowage set) and either the turret ring/MG (seen here) or remote operated weapon. With Eureka’s Bushmaster and ASLAVs will make up a good vehicle complement. The Hawkei is Australia’s replacement for the Land Rover as a protected mobility vehicle.

My friend @danpaintsminiatures 3D printed a pair of 1:144 scale F-111s which will form the fixed wing air support for my #15mm Australians for #fireteammodern and #iaintbeennukedmum. I think they look fantastic and can’t wait to get them painted and on flight stands. #miniatures #teamyankee #wargaming
